Q: What is Worldcast Inc all about? A: Worldcast Inc is a company with an innovate concept of bridging the gap of entertainment between performer and venue worldwide using a web and the internet. WCI allows DJs/Artist to perform in any establishment anywhere in the world without leaving their location.
Q: How Does Your Service Work?
A: Any Performer (DJ/Artist) or Venue can sign up on worldcastinc.com. Once signed up as a DJ you will set your price or negotiate with any venue. As a venue you can search for DJs and begin the booking process by clicking on the Demand Me button. Once time and fees are agreed upon you simply wait for the date to arrive for the event. Upon the time we advise you setup your camera and audio at least an hr prior to the event just to ensure that everything is in working order. All you need is a good webcam, high speed internet (both venue and DJ MUST have this) and your audio connection from your DJ mixer into the line or mic input in your computer. The venue will just simply need to have the headphones output from their computer plugged into the main mixer of their sound system. Its that simple.
Q: Can any DJ sign up on Worldcast's website?
A: Yes. We welcome all professional DJs to sign up on our website for free.
Q: Is there a special type of internet connection needed for this service?
A: In order to use this service effective all parties must have a broadband internet connect with at least 2 mpbs upstream and 5 mpbs downstream. The higher those numbers are the better. Check with your local Internet Service Provider for more info.
Q: Once I sign up will I automatically get gigs?
A: Getting gigs are based upon venues/promoters finding you and hiring you based on how you market yourself on the site. Taking advantage of our tools such as audio and video demos, photos of your events and a bio to name a few. The more you post the more attention you can attract which can potentially converts to gigs. Also please keep in mind that like other DJs you can present this service to any venue you might have a relationship with and offer your services at a reduced cost.
Q: Can we set our own fee or is it a set fee for each gig?
A: Our system allows each member to set their own fee and can negotiate that fee with the venue if need be. However there is a minimum fee set by the system for each DJ. Due to the cost of providing this service we set a minimum fee that would cover the operating cost once our percentage is taken out.
Q: Does the DJ have to pay worldcast to use this service?
A: No. The way it works is you negotiate the price with the venue. Once the price is agreed upon and paid by the venue Worldcast takes its percentage and distributes the remainder to you.
Q: How much is the percentage retained by Worldcast?
A: Worldcast retains 38% of the total cost of the event.
